Meet Daisy

Meet Kathryn Johnson’s dog, Daisy! Originally from Eufaula, Alabama, Kathryn is now the marketing and communications manager for Unsukay Community of Business, which includes the restaurants Muss & Turner’s, Local Three and Common Quarter.

She loves the Vinings/Smyrna area because of the “ITP” accessibility to Atlanta, but also because it is laidback like an “OTP” neighborhood. Kathryn thinks Vinings is great because of the little pocket of great restaurants and shopping. It is never too crowded, and that makes it feel like one of Atlanta’s best kept secrets. Plus, those who live in Vinings have access to the Chattahoochee, which Kathryn says is one of Atlanta’s best features!

What is your pet?

Daisy is a Shiba Inu/Terrier Mix.

How did she come to live with you?

I adopted her from the Atlanta Humane Society Mansell Campus.

Why is your pet special?

She’s the best travel buddy! She adapts to new places and people really quickly and enjoys long car rides. I love being able to bring her on weekend trips.

What does she enjoy about living in Vinings?

Daisy loves going to the Paces Mill Landing on the Chattahoochee River for walks. She’s not much of a swimmer, but likes to wade in the water and watch wildlife.

Is there a pet-related charity or cause you support?

We love the Atlanta Humane Society! They do amazing work in finding pets their forever homes. They place about 8,000 pets into forever homes each year. Adopting a dog or cat from the AHS is a win-win situation. The pets get to go to a safe, loving forever home and the pet owner gets a friend for life! The AHS also provides low-cost spay and neuter services throughout the state to further their mission of ending pet homelessness and overpopulation in Georgia.
