What made you start a business?  I’ve actually always been an entrepreneur at heart. As a teenager, I participated in a program called the young entrepreneurs program (Y.E.P) offered at Columbia University where I learned some invaluable information on how to start a business, from the initial phase of business plan writing to funding a business. Now as an adult and as a mom, I’ve just been so fortunate to be able to turn the things I’m passionate about into an actual business.
How does being a “momprenuer” affect the rest of your life?  More than anything, I like to believe that being a mompreneur affects and inspires my daughters and other young girls in my life. They see me work extremely hard to balance home and work and they also get to see the results. They see that even when things don’t go my way, I never give up and am always just trying to learn and grow. Knowing that they are watching me and paying attention also becomes my motivation to be the best mompreneur and just overall human being I can be.
What advice do you have for other moms interested in starting their own business?  Just do it! Seriously, if you have a dream, don’t be afraid to make that dream a reality. Do your research. Have a plan. Connect with other mompreneurs and give it your best shot. You’d be amazed at how awesome you can be!

What do you love about the Vinings area?  Vinings was my first home when I moved to Georgia back in 2001. Even back then, I loved the convenience of being close to everything and every place I needed to be. Great schools, shopping, restaurants, parks, you name it!  I love that there’s always been a sense of community amidst the hustle and bustle of a major metropolitan city.
