With the celebration of local men in June and all of our adventures and fun in July, this summer has already been quite an eventful one. We had so much fun; it’s hard to believe it’s almost time to end.

But, as the song goes, school’s out for summer (we’ll just go ahead and skip that next line declaring school out forever). And, as summer begins to come to a close (at least in the summer break sense—if you prefer to go by the astronomical seasons you still have almost two more months, yay!), it’s time to start thinking about getting back to those backpacks, lunches and busy days.

The beginning of a new school year is an exciting time. Whether it be the first day of kindergarten or senior year of college, it marks a new time in the never-ending quest for knowledge.

While a new school year is an exciting time of beginnings, it’s also a stressful time. That’s why our August issue of Vinings Lifestyle aims to provide a little help with our back-to-school guide.

I snuck in a little suggestion for a little getaway. It’s not the beach but is far enough away to feel like you’re not at home. Let’s have one last hurrah before the school year starts up again.

To all the teachers joining us this month: thank you. None of us would be where we are without you.

Have a great school year, Vinings.

And remember, never stop learning.
