Atlanta Regional Polo Center The Atlanta Regional Polo Center will be having polo practice from 6 to 8 p.m., every Wednesday until the end of October. The club is located Vinings on Polo Lane. Vinings Village Civic Club The Vinings Village Civic Club continued its long tradition of hosting candidate forums before the primary elections. An overflowing crowd attended the forum at the Cochise Club in May to hear presentations by district candidates.

WellStar Vinings Health Park Ribbon-cutting The WellStar Vinings Health Park, which opened in September 2017, held a ribbon-cutting in April to celebrate the opening of its outpatient surgery center. The Vinings Health Park is WellStar’s newest, and third, health park in Cobb County

Vinings Village Civic Club Centennial Birthday Celebration The Vinings Village Civic Club celebrated its centennial birthday at the Vinings Library this past March. Fond memories of the first meeting in 1919 were brought to life and all who attended had a good time.

Omni Hotel Ribbon-Cutting Omni Hotels & Resorts and the Atlanta Braves commemorated the opening of the Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta with a ribbon-cutting celebration. The official hotel of the Atlanta Braves is located at The Battery Atlanta, the city’s newest mixed-use complex and home to SunTrust Park, the Coca-Cola Roxy, shopping, dining and office space.

Christmas at Brawner Christmas at Brawner Hall was held December 15 and featured holiday treats, hay "sleigh" rides, children's activities, Dickens carolers, a Christmas movie and visits with Santa. Admission was one new or gently-used coat, and the event collected approximately 150 coats that were donated to the Smyrna location of MUST Ministries.

Taylor-Brawner Park with Art Smyrna and the Taylor-Brawner House Foundation held the fourth annual Taylor-Brawner Park with Art fine art exhibit and sale October 6-15 at the Taylor-Brawner House. This annual event included more than two dozen of the region’s most accomplished artists. A popular silent auction was conducted during the opening night reception. 

Casper’s Friendly Fall Festival Casper's Friendly Fall Festival had carnival games, inflatables, a hayride, crafts and much more. It was open to children up to 12 years old and their families and took place around the fountain in front of the Smyrna Community Center and on the Veterans Memorial lawn.

Smyrna Little League’s Rookie Blue All-Star Team For the second time in three years, Smyrna Little League’s Rookie Blue All-Star team has been crowned state champions in the 
Rookie Baseball Tournament, which was created in 2013 for 7- and 8-year-olds. The Smyrna team won with a final score of 8-2.
